Our Guslis are a joy to play with a ringing, vibrant sound. Typically 18 and 21 string versions are available to order. These instruments date back to the Medieval Period in Novgorod in various forms and are currently experiencing a resurgence. They can be plucked or strummed or both in a combined technique similar to the type used for Lyres. They are gentle on the wrists compared to a harp or guitar as the wrists are kept straighter with less pressure applied. Typically, we have several on had in person. Available in domestic and exotic woods.
